City Build (2020)

I was busy working on the front porch remodel of our lake home one beautiful summer day in 2019 when I felt a little nudge, that it was time to move to town. There was much work left to do before we could sell the house and move to town, but we came up with a plan to finish the remodel and went for it! We made it happen in just a few short months and sold the house just days before the first blast of winter set in. We were very specific about the area of town we wanted to live in (a quaint little neighborhood close to school). The land we wanted wasn’t for sale, but with a little convincing, we talked the kind landowner into selling us an acre and a half of land in the perfect location. We wanted to build a home that was not too big, not too small for our family of eight. We decided that a simple, modern “barn-shape” house with rooms for all six of our animals, I mean children, was just what we needed. Big gathering spaces on the main floor, simple yet functional layout, with a modern clean, minimalist style. We miss the lake property, but being blocks away from school is just what we needed during this busy season of life. God knows. He always knows.
